DTD A sort of type declaration for XML
Well formed An XML file conforming to the XML syntax rules, including:
  • Every start tag has an end tag, and none are "interlaced", but instead all are properly nested. 
  • Every attribute has a name followed by an equal sign followed by a quoted value. 
  • There is one and only 1 top level element
Valid Well formed, AND conforming to the rules of the DTD.
