These 2 scoping methods work with non-argument commands

{\tiny This is tiny.}

\begin{tiny}This is tiny.\end{tiny}

This scoping method works with commands taking arguments

\textsc{This Is Small Caps}

Many commands have argument and non-argument forms:

\textsc{This is small caps}

\begin{scshape}This is small caps\end{scshape}
