Linux Enthusiasts and Professionals (LEAP) will field a booth at the Computer & Technology Showcase (CTS) show in Orlando on May 15 and 16, 2002. Our booth will demonstrate Linux installation, and the use of Linux programs in business. We will be giving away some free copies of Linux. There will be almost continuous Linux presenters including Linux.Com's Robin Miller, and a good time will be had by all.

Linux Speakers at CTS

The CTS keynote address will be given by none other than Robin "Roblimo" Miller. Robin will speak on "Building Profitable Web Sites With Free Software". Robin is the author of the new book "Habits of Highly Successful Online Companies: Rules for Building Profits", so you know he'll impart some valuable knowledge.

Besides authoring the new book, scheduled for release in September, 2002 by Financial Times Press/Prentice Hall, Robin is also editor in chief for Linux.Com and for OSDN, one of the world's leading online tech news publishers. He has written extensively about computers and the Internet for Slashdot, Linux.com, NewsForge, Time New Media, Online Journalism Review, Web Hosting Magazine, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, and many other Web sites, newspapers, and magazines.

This is a can't miss presentation! Robin will speak from 10:30am to 11:30am on 5/15/2002. Be there!

This is your chance to have some Linux fun. Come hang out at our booth, for as long as you like. Talk to other LUG members, or talk to the IT audience at large. Meet people from other LUGs. Show off your LUG shirt. Chat about your latest equipment, antics, and accomplishments.

Many of your will be sponsoring similar booths in your own cities, and you know there's so much work you don't have a chance to have fun. So come to our booth -- we'll do all the work -- you have all the fun. Come and go as you please. See the other exhibits.

Just in case there's an error in the registration, also bring in one of our free tickets.

If you're actually participating as a booth person or as a speaker, it's HIGHLY recommended you register beforehand. Otherwise you'll wait in line with others wishing to register.
 
 

Getting There

The show is May 15 and 16, at the Orlando Expo Centre. Here's the address:

This is downtown Orlando, so get off the I-4 on
 

* Directions From I-4 Going West Toward Tampa:
Take exit #42 and proceed straight at bottom of off-ramp onto Hughey Avenue. Turn right on Livingston Street. The main parking lot #1 will be on your right.
 

* Directions From I-4 Going East Toward Daytona:
Take exit #40, Robinson Street and turn left on Livingston Street. Main parking lot #1 will be on your right.
 

* Directions from Orlando International Airport:
Take 436 North to East-West Expressway (407) and drive West on the East-West Expressway to I-4. Drive East on I-4 to Exit #40, Robinson Street and turn left on Livingston Street. The main parking Lot #1 will be on your right.

Registration is 9:00am to 9:45am, so if you haven't preregistered get there during that time. Robin Miller's keynote kicks off promptly at 10:30 on May 15, so get there early to find the auditorium and get good seating.
